Social Media 101 and 102: Summary and Full Video
October 26, 2011 by Donnie Clapp
We recently worked with Sustainable Tourism International to put on two webinars on social media, which I developed to be particularly useful to those in the Travel and Tourism sectors.
There were two sessions: one aimed at beginners and one aimed at more advanced practitioners. Both used cheesy yet effective metaphors to drive my points home.
My premise is that doing really great social media for your brand does not require learning a whole new skill set. It can seem scary for beginners – talking to all of those people out there, worrying about negative sentiments, and wondering when you should say what. But in the end, you already know exactly how to do it, because social media is very similar to the relationships you already cultivate in your life.
You talk confidently and casually to your best friends, and you put in long-term work to keep the passion alive in your marriage. These are the two high points of a long-term successful social media campaign, and are coincidentally the subjects of the two webinars below.
So, enjoy the slides and full video recordings of each session below, and feel free to contact me — donnie.clapp@mercurycsc.com — if you’d like to discuss anything herein. More importantly, I'm available for speaking engagements at any and all social media seminars being held in exotic locales around the globe.
