During a recent trip down to LA to visit an old friend, I went for a stroll along the boardwalk in Venice. Amid the array of sights, sounds, street performers and expected characters, something made me stop. That something was the juxtaposition of the Medical Marijuana Evaluation Center and Botox on the Beach.
Thinking back to Marketing 101, and the 5 P’s of Marketing: People, Product, Price, Place and Promotion, I wonder how Place is working for these businesses? If you don’t like one, you like the other? Or maybe Price drives traffic? Botox too expensive? Buy some weed and forget about the wrinkles? Better yet, maybe these business are forming a partnership? Buy one Botox treatment, get your medical marijuana card free?
Maybe Republicans and Democrats can learn to live in peace together after all.

This is so amazing because I was just telling Jaclyn about this exact spot. I laughed so hard when I saw this the last time I was out there. Glad you had a camera to capture it. Only in California!
I’m assuming you think it’s the democrats that are getting evaluated for the weed. What makes you think republicans are botox users? Have you done a focus group on that?
Jeff, I’m not assuming Democrats are getting evaluated for the weed, nor am I assuming that Republicans are Botox users. I’m saying that if these two businesses can coexist peacefully, it seems like our two political parties could follow suit.
